Dr. Nazari, NKUMS Vice-Chancellor for Treatment, said: “After monitoring the reform package for promoting natural childbirth in the Health Sector Evolution Plan (HSEP) in the medical sciences universities of the country, NKUMS was recognized as the one which succeeded in the implementation of this program in 2017.

Dr. Nazari expressed that setting up the LDR rooms, reconstruction of labor buildings, periodical monitoring of healthcare centers and performance of physicians, holding various committees for reduction of cesarean delivery, were among the many initiatives taken for promoting natural childbirth delivery in the province.

Compared to the national rate, the rate of cesarean delivery in the province is at an ideal level and for the first time, has been reduced in 2017, he also added.
